INTRODUCTION
In an increasingly materialistic
society where isolation and loneliness are
epidemic, there is an unheard cry for
meaning.

The
Biblical Museum of Canada is a teaching museum that offers help
to people to find meaning for their lives.
With
this in mind, this teaching museum leads the visitors on a
pilgrimage, from Stone Age to Space Age, offering a fresh
and unparalleled documentation of the history of civilization
and culture.
According to the British historian Paul Johnson, "History
is the most important thing to learn. It's more important than
almost any other discipline if you are involved in high-level
decisions."
- ABOUT THE
COLLECTIONS
- The
museum contains high-quality reproductions from over 100
museums around the globe. It includes items from
Sumerian, Egyptian, Biblical and Classical times
together with art objects and documentations from the
Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the Industrial Revolution
and Modern History. All are directly related to either
the quest for values and meaning in history, or the
impact on the educational, scientific and social
development of our society.
The
approximate number of artifacts and pictures in the collection is
over 2000.
"With historical aids one will understand
Scripture much more fully than one could otherwise. And this is
what the Biblical Museum of Canada is all about."
Dr. James Packer
THE LIFE CHANGING AFFECT
Here are a just a
couple of examples of how THE BIBLICAL MUSEUM OF CANADA has
affected some.
Several
years ago, Fred Metzger bought a full size replica of the
Pontius Pilate's Cornerstone of the theatre at Caesarea, Israel.
A university student helped him to unpack, and when he saw the
inscription he exclaimed in astonishment, "Then Pilate was a
real person!" He became a member and later an elder of his
church. Today he has his Ph.D., and he is a research scientist
with the atomic commission in Vienna, Austria.
-
The staff of the
Holocaust Education Society visited the museum twice. A
medical doctor, an Auschwitz survivor, after seeing the
exhibition said:
- "I
like this, there are no arguments, only facts!"
